FAQ

자주 묻는 질문

What is Sargam notation?

Sargam is the Indian solfège system using seven swaras: Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni. Lowercase letters (re, ga, dha, ni) are komal (flat); the apostrophe on Ma (Ma’) marks tivra (sharp). The caret
^
raises an octave; underscore
_
lowers.

How does the converter handle keys?

Sargam is movable — Sa can be any pitch. Set the Sa slider to the Western note your Sa lives at, and the converter will translate every Sargam syllable to the matching Western note (and vice-versa).

Can I import a melody?

Paste any sequence on either side. Use spaces or commas to separate notes;
|
marks bar lines (ignored by the converter);
-
is a rest.
